How much does a Brazilian wax cost in LA and New York? (2026 prices)

By Smooth SpotsOctober 30, 20264 min read

We checked the menus of 232 wax studios. A Brazilian typically costs $67 in LA and $65 in New York, and local studios charge about $10 less than chains.

The short answer

A women's Brazilian wax typically costs $67 in Los Angeles and $65 in New York City, based on the published everyday prices of 232 studios we checked in October 2026. Most studios charge between $50 and $75. Independent studios are consistently cheaper than chains, by $9.50 in LA and $12 in New York.

That's the headline. The more useful part is the spread underneath it, because the "typical" price hides a lot.

Why we counted

Ask a friend what a Brazilian costs and you'll get an answer somewhere between "forty bucks" and "a hundred-something". Both can be true. Studio menus mix "from" prices, member rates, first-visit deals and packages, and almost nobody compares like with like.

So between October 25 and 29 we read the price menus of every wax studio we list in both cities and wrote down one number per studio: the everyday price of a women's Brazilian wax. No memberships, no intro offers. That left us with 49 studios in LA and 183 in New York.

Los AngelesNew York
Studios with a published price49183
Typical price (median)$67$65
Middle half of studios charge$58.50–$75$50–$72
Lowest we found$30$20
Highest we found$95$189

New York is a touch cheaper overall, but its range is much wider. A quarter of New York studios charge $50 or less. In LA, the cheapest quarter starts at $58.50. If you're in New York and paying more than $72, three out of four studios would charge you less.

Local studios are about $10 cheaper than chains

This was the clearest pattern in the data, and it held in both cities.

Local studiosChains
Los Angeles$65 (33 studios)$74.50 (16 studios)
New York$60 (128 studios)$72 (55 studios)

It matches what we found when we audited 231 LA studios earlier this month. Chains make up some of the gap with memberships and prepaid packs, which can bring the price down if you go regularly. If you wax every couple of months, a local studio is usually the better deal.

Where it costs less: neighborhood by neighborhood

The price moves more between neighborhoods than between the two cities. These are typical prices in neighborhoods where at least five studios publish one.

The typical Brazilian in Bay Ridge costs $25 less than in Williamsburg. Same city, same service.

How we counted

We recorded the everyday price of a women's Brazilian wax from each studio's own published menu or booking page, checked October 25 (LA) and October 29 (New York), 2026. Where a studio listed more than one Brazilian, we used the lowest standard price. We left out sugaring, men's waxing, laser, memberships, packages and first-visit offers, and set aside one New York price more than four times the median as a likely package. "Typical" means the median: half of studios charge more and half charge less. Neighborhood figures only include areas with at least five priced studios.
